Attention Signal
Anytime I say “Spongebob”
the students will respond with “Squarepants” and all eyes and
ears will be on the teacher. If in the classroom setting, the
students will be in ready position with hands on desk, both cheeks in
the seat, eyes on the teacher, and mouths closed. If in the hall or
on a field trip, students will close mouths and have eyes on the
teacher.
Coming into Class
Each day students will walk
into class and get their folder from the “Information station”
and get their folders and journals. They will then proceed to their
assigned seat and begin on the daily journal assignment. Students are
allowed to converse with the teacher about their day with an inside
voice. If any student needs help for any reason, they may raise their
hand. Students can get up to sharpen their pencil as long as they are
back in their assigned seat by the time the bell rings.
Transitioning from one Learning Station to the Next
Students will move from one
station to the next in less than 15 seconds. Students can only say
“excuse me” and “thank you” to their peers. If students need
help, they are to raise their hand. Students are to take care of
sharpening their pencil before the 15 seconds are up. A direct route
to each station will be shown to the students and they must then
follow that route each time.
End of Class
I will end learning stations
10 minutes before the bell. When learning stations end, students are
to return their folders and journals to the “information station”
and return to their assigned seat withing 25 seconds. I will then
wrap up the class. Students will then stay in their seat until the
teacher dismisses them. No students are to speak. If students are in
need of teacher assistance, they may come up to the teacher after she
dismisses the class.
